Smart lock automation: every booking becomes a door code
Smart lock automation means a guest’s access is created and removed by software instead of by you. With Ribat, each booking generates a unique TTLock passcode that works only for that stay, is emailed to the guest automatically, and expires at checkout.
How automatic door codes work
Ribat connects to your TTLock account. When a reservation arrives from a connected channel, or when you create one by hand, Ribat creates a passcode on the right lock scoped to the exact check-in and checkout times of that stay.
The code is then sent to the guest by email. When the stay ends, the code expires on its own, so nothing stays active after a guest leaves.
- Connect TTLockLink your TTLock account and assign each lock to a room or property.
- A booking arrivesA reservation comes in from Booking.com, Expedia or Agoda, or you add one manually.
- Ribat creates the codeA unique passcode is generated for that stay, active from check-in and expiring at checkout.
- The guest is emailedThe code goes to the guest by email with no action from you.
- Access ends itselfAt checkout the code expires. You never have to remember to delete it.
The operator problems it removes
Self check-in only works if the access side is reliable. Automation targets the three things that usually go wrong.
- 2 AM door-code calls: guests receive their code before arrival, and low-battery or offline locks are flagged before they reach the door.
- Driving over with a spare key: nobody has to be physically present to hand over access.
- Old codes still working: every code is unique and time-limited, so there is no shared master code and no lingering access.
Control when you need it
Automation handles the routine stays, but you stay in control. From the dashboard you can manually generate, revoke or extend any code, for example when a guest extends their stay or a booking changes at the last minute.
| Situation | With Ribat | Without automation |
|---|---|---|
| New booking | Code generated and emailed automatically | Someone creates and sends a code by hand |
| Checkout | Code expires automatically | Someone must remember to remove it |
| Guest extends stay | Extend the code from the dashboard | Reissue or edit it on the lock app |
| Low battery or offline lock | Alert surfaced before arrival | Found out when the guest calls |
What you need to get started
You need TTLock-compatible locks and a Ribat account. For fully remote code delivery, a TTLock Wi-Fi gateway is recommended so codes can be pushed to the lock without anyone at the door. Locks without a gateway are supported with a manual or Bluetooth step, and we confirm what your lock model needs during setup.
Codes are stored on the lock and are time-based, so they keep working even if the internet drops. Codes are sent by email. WhatsApp delivery is available on request: tell us in your demo and we’ll set it up with you.
Frequently asked questions
Which smart locks does Ribat support?
Ribat integrates natively with TTLock smart locks. Other lock brands are not supported today.
How does the guest receive their door code?
Ribat emails the unique code to the guest automatically after the booking is created. WhatsApp delivery is available on request: tell us in your demo and we’ll set it up with you.
Do I need a TTLock gateway?
A TTLock Wi-Fi gateway is recommended for fully remote, hands-off delivery, because it lets codes be pushed to the lock without anyone at the door. Gateway-free locks work with a manual or Bluetooth step.
What happens if the lock is offline?
Passcodes are time-based and stored on the lock, so they keep working if connectivity drops. Ribat also flags offline and low-battery locks so you can fix them before the guest arrives.
Can I revoke or extend a code?
Yes. You can manually generate, revoke or extend any code from the dashboard at any time.
